The 2001 Honda Orthia Type S is a rare Japanese-market wagon that combines Honda's legendary reliability with the practicality of a spacious five-door design and the exclusive styling reserved for the desirable Type S trim. Finished in its original factory black paint and showing just 51k original miles, this Orthia has been exceptionally well cared for throughout its life in Japan. As a 2001 facelift model, it features the updated front-end styling and comes equipped with the exclusive Type S black-and-blue sport interior, a distinctive factory cabin unique to the Type S that sets it apart from standard Orthia models. It also retains its original factory alloy wheels, which share the same iconic design found on the 1999-2000 U.S.-market Honda Civic Si (EK), further adding to its enthusiast appeal.

The body remains clean and original, while the lowered suspension gives it a tasteful sporty stance without sacrificing everyday comfort. Finding a genuine Orthia Type S with this kind of mileage, originality, and overall condition has become increasingly difficult as these wagons continue to disappear from the market.

Under the hood is Honda's dependable 2.0L DOHC inline-four engine paired with a smooth automatic transmission driving the front wheels. Even better, the Orthia shares its proven engine and drivetrain with the U.S.-market RD2 Honda CR-V, making maintenance straightforward and replacement parts readily available throughout North America. Designed to provide years of reliable service, it delivers a comfortable ride, predictable handling, and excellent fuel economy, making it equally at home around town or on long highway trips. This example comes equipped with air conditioning, power steering, power windows, the original Type S alloy wheels, an Alpine navigation system with TV functionality, and its original owner's manual, further highlighting its originality and well-preserved condition.

One of the Orthia's greatest strengths is its versatile interior and generous cargo space. The large rear hatch and folding rear seats provide ample room for luggage, tools, equipment, or everyday errands. Its right-hand-drive configuration has also made the Orthia a popular choice for USPS rural mail carriers and rural mail delivery routes, allowing drivers to comfortably reach roadside mailboxes while benefiting from Honda's reputation for long-term reliability, low operating costs, and affordable maintenance. Whether used for work or as a dependable daily driver, the Orthia remains one of the most practical and economical JDM wagons available.

Whether you're looking for a unique JDM daily driver, a dependable rural mail delivery vehicle, an efficient commuter, or a collectible Honda wagon that's becoming increasingly difficult to source, this 2001 Honda Orthia Type S checks every box. Its ultra-low original mileage, factory black finish, exclusive Type S interior, facelift styling, original Civic Si-style alloy wheels, practical wagon design, and proven Honda engineering make it an exceptional example of one of Honda's most overlooked enthusiast models. As clean, unmodified Type S examples become increasingly scarce, this Orthia represents an outstanding opportunity to own a rare, highly usable, and increasingly collectible Japanese import.
